Fundraising at Kalaya
Kaurna Language Books
In 2007, the children at Kalaya were involved in developing a Kaurna Counting Book and CD titled Kaurna Warraarra Woonbawonbandi which has realised success throughout Australia and beyond.
The positive response to this resource prompted the 2010 Kalaya Management Committee to liaise with the Kaurna Warra Pintyandi and the Port Adelaide Enfield Council to develop two new Kaurna language books titled Kuranye Kaurnaarra (Colours in Kaurna) and Nunno Kaurnaarra (Body Parts in Kaurna).
These books are available for sale, with proceeds funding language and cultural programs at the Kalaya Children’s Centre.
For purchases, please complete the Order Form below and return to Kalaya Children's Centre.
Kalaya Children's Centre Performances
Children at Kalaya Children's Centre occasionally attend community events to share some of the English, Kaurna and Pitjantjatjara songs they have been learning.
We ask that organisations requesting a performance from the Kalaya children provide a donation to the centre, with proceeds going back in to the language and cultural programs for the children.
To request a performance, please fill out the form below and return to Kalaya Children's Centre.
